WhatsApp just remove 9,400 bad account that were triking people! This is scammer told people they were police and said” you are under arrest” to scare them into giving money. This is called a “digital arrest” scame. Since January 2026 WhatsApp through out all this fake accounts to keep you safe. The Indian government told the supreme court about this action. Now, fair people will get folled by this scary phone call.
Real example grandma losess 24 crore
A 74 years old grandma name is lakshmi Ramamurthy in Bengaluru got this scary call. A fake police officer on the video said she committed a crime and must stay “under digital arrest” he told her to move all her money to a “safe account” then she lost 24 crore (that’s 240 million rupees!) before police cought the bad guys, Karnataka cyber command busted the whole scam team. This show why WhatsApp banning this account is so important.
