You dangerous new WhatsApp image scam is spreading across India. Hackers height male use code inside ordinary looking photos send via WhatsApp. When you open the image, maluwere silently installed on your phone and still OTP s, passwords, and bank details-open without you clicking anything extra.

The department of telecom has issue a public warning to avoid downloading media from unknown numbers it may be WhatsApp image scammer.

Real example: man losses 2 lakh in minute

At 20 years old man from Maharashtra (near your area!) received as semingly innocent photo on WhatsApp. He downloaded it and within minute 2 lakh vanish from his bank account.

How it happened

  1. Scammer Sent a photo using LSB steganography (hiding coad inside image pixel )
  2. Malware activited when the image opened
  3. It stole his otps and banking credentials silenly
  4. Unauthorised transaction drained his account

Another victim in Jabalpur also loss 2 Lakh the same way.

  5. Never share otps:-even if someone says it’s urgent
